Having dedicated over 28 years of my life to the art of hairdressing, it’s safe to say it’s more than just a career—it’s my passion, my calling. As I embark on my third decade in this vibrant industry, I can’t help but reflect on the incredible journey it has been.

For a decade, I’ve proudly overseen the operations of a thriving salon, all the while refining my skills and expanding my knowledge. This experience has not only enabled me to master the craft of hairdressing but also to serve as a mentor, sharing my insights and expertise with my guests, my team, and now, my new tribe.

In recent years, balayage and its bespoke techniques have taken center stage, and I’ve embraced the challenge, mastering this sought-after skill to perfection. However, my love for precision cutting remains unwavering. There’s something truly magical about sculpting hair with precision, creating sleek lines and shapes that enhance natural beauty.

To me, every day presents an opportunity to learn and grow, and I instil this philosophy wherever I am, which is why The Hair Movement is such a great match as our philosophies align. Hair has been my lifelong passion, driving me to pursue a career in hairdressing fueled by an insatiable curiosity and dedication to excellence. From the day The Hair Movement opened its doors, I’ve been here, infusing every strand with creativity and care.

After starting my journey in the vibrant world of hair, I fine tuned my skills and knowledge, mastering the art of precision cutting and the intricate nuances of colour. Reality is, that fine tuning never stops.

Inspiration for me springs from the ever-evolving trends on the streets and runways, constantly fuelling my creativity and ensuring my styles remain fresh and innovative.

Yet, amidst the whirlwind of trends and techniques, my true muse remains my guests. Their individuality, lifestyle, and personality serve as my motivator, shaping each unique look to perfectly complement who they are. Some of my guests have followed me for almost 20 years, so I like to believe that I am a real people person.

Collaboration is at the heart of my approach. Whether you seek a moment of relaxation or engaging conversation (and I do like a chat), I’m here to tailor the experience to your preferences, ensuring you are happy and relaxed while I work my magic.

As an expert in all facets of hair-styling with over twenty years of experience, I’ve dedicated my career to perfecting the craft. Inspired by my father, a seasoned barber, I entered the hair industry driven by a passion ignited within me at a young age.

What brings me joy every single day? It’s simple: people. Building enduring connections with my guests has been the cornerstone of my journey. Some have been by my side since the very beginning of my career, twenty years ago. But don’t let that intimidate you; I’m just as thrilled to welcome new faces into my chair, eager to embark on fresh styling adventures together.

Being chosen as someone’s stylist is an honor I don’t take lightly. It means sharing moments, stories, and laughter, forming bonds that transcend mere hairstyling. My greatest fulfilment comes from empowering my guests, boosting their confidence, and helping them navigate life’s challenges with a newfound self-assurance.

From my earliest memories, I’ve harbored a deep desire to become a hairdresser. Even as a child, I eagerly styled the hair of family and friends, pouring my passion into every makeover. What truly drives me is witnessing the transformative power of a hairstyle – that magical moment when a guest gazes upon their reflection in the mirror and beams with joy. This unwavering passion has guided me throughout my 19-year journey in the industry.

Straight out of school, I embarked on my apprenticeship with a renowned salon group, where I honed my skills and embraced every opportunity to learn. In my final year, clinching the top spot in the group’s color and cutting competition fueled my thirst for continuous improvement. I remain dedicated to staying ahead of the curve, constantly seeking out new techniques and trends through courses and learning from industry leaders. Recently, mastering the art of balayage allowed me to perfect that coveted natural, sun-kissed allure.

With nearly two decades of experience under my belt, my love for the craft continues to flourish. I firmly believe that beyond mastering techniques, connecting with guests is paramount. My journey in hairdressing ignited during my teenage years when I took on the role of a Saturday girl at a local salon. This initial step opened my eyes to the significance of delivering a holistic client experience, fueling my determination to carve my path in this dynamic and artistic field.

With years of dedication and hard work, I honed my skills, earning my qualifications and immersing myself in the industry’s intricacies. Drawing inspiration from seasoned professionals, I continually strive to elevate my craft, aspiring to offer nothing short of excellence to every client I serve.

But beyond the skills and techniques, what truly sets my heart aglow is the connection I have with each guest. Just like the whole tribe, I’m very guest-centric, and I pride myself on creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where laughter flows freely, making everyone feel right at home.

“With a heart for creativity and a drive for perfection, I’m thrilled to embark on new hair journeys.”

I’ve had a similar start to many of my fellow tribe members here at The Hair Movement, where I fell in love with the industry at a very young age working as a Saturday girl at my local salon in Norwich. That was 15 years ago. For the past couple of years I have lived in the London area. I made the move to mix it up a bit, push my skills and gain even more life and industry experience.

Having been fully qualified for 10 years I’m excited to now be part of The Hair Movement . The brand ethos and service level that is offered here fits me like a glove, and I’m excited to share it with all my guests.

One of my absolute passions is dramatic restyle cuts. I love love love short haircuts and creating a dramatic sense of change and new beginnings. I also thoroughly get excited about creating a gorgeous balayage and impactful money pieces (face framing).

Hairdressing is never static, there’s always new things to learn, which means I can constantly push my skill-boundaries, both for myself, but mostly for my guests. I know that it’s so important to always stay ahead of trends and techniques in order to stay on top of my game. I also really like to showcase the work we do, so you might experience a mini photoshoot at the end of your visit. After all, beautiful things should be shared with the world!

When I’m not in salon, my creative passion continues with my love for interior design. So yes, I am a creative through and through, which is why The Hair Movement is the perfect home for me. So on that note, I very much look forward to taking you on your next hair journey.

I’m Josh, a proud member of The Hair Movement tribe. Since starting my hairdressing journey in 2017, I’ve had the privilege of training in esteemed salons across Northampton. The thrill of transforming even the wildest hair into something beautiful never ceases to amaze me. Witnessing the ‘wow’ moment when guests see their before-and-after transformation is truly exhilarating.

Colouring holds a special place in my heart, particularly when it comes to creating stunning blondes. However, I firmly believe that a great cut and style are equally essential to complete the look, and I take immense pride in perfecting every detail.

Described as having a creative style with a classic yet contemporary twist, I’m constantly seeking inspiration from social media and the latest industry trends. Staying updated is crucial to delivering top-notch service and remaining relevant in this ever-evolving field.

It may sound like a cliche, but I’ve known that I want to be in the industry since I was 9. I’d always be the last person out of the house as I just had to make sure that my hair looked perfect, so when I turned 16 I started my apprenticeship and I’ve loved every second of it since. Not only am I really happy with my chosen profession, but I know that it’s one full of passion that has endless creative options. It can also literally take me anywhere!

I’m a big believer in learning and always keeping myself up-to-date with the latest fashion trends, which all naturally melts in with hair trends. Social media, like TikTok, is a great tool for keeping my finger on the pulse of what’s current. I also love sharing my work on TikTok and other social platforms, which is why The Hair Movement is so great, as this is encouraged a lot. 

But for me, the true magic happens in the salon, where I get to connect with guests, both old and new. It’s not just about the colour or cut; it’s about the relationships we forge. I thrive on building connections and creating unforgettable experiences for each guest. Every appointment is a unique journey, tailored to make you feel incredible and bring out the best version of your hair.

While I’m passionate about all aspects of this industry, my heart beats brightest for color. There’s nothing quite like the transformative power of a fresh, vibrant look.

Hairdressing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From sneaking a hairdryer into school to being told off for playing hairdresser, the passion was always there. My journey in salons began at the age of 15, starting as Saturday support staff and quickly realizing where my heart truly belonged.

Despite initially pursuing studies in Law and Psychology, it didn’t take long for me to recognize my true calling. Making a bold decision, I shifted gears and embarked on my professional journey in the world of hair.

Starting as an apprentice in a renowned city salon chain provided me with invaluable training and the opportunity to refine my skills. While I’m enthusiastic about all aspects of hairdressing, my heart truly sings when I’m working with creative colors. The bolder, the better—it’s where my passion truly shines. I draw inspiration from my second love, fashion, constantly seeking to merge hair and runway artistry into unforgettable masterpieces.

Engaging with people is another aspect of my work that brings me immense joy. Connecting with new faces and sharing stories enriches my day and fuels my creativity.

Hairdressing wasn’t initially my original career path, but the transformative experience of delivering my first full head of highlights and witnessing the immense joy it brought my client ignited an unwavering passion. This led me to leave school at 16 and dive headfirst into a full-time apprenticeship, determined to pursue my newfound calling.

Creativity and exploration are at the core of my approach. I constantly push boundaries, exploring innovative techniques inspired by social media trends and dedicated training sessions. While I relish in experimenting with various styles, my true passion lies in crafting stunning looks for blondes, from flawless Scandinavian hairlines to the lived-in blonde aesthetic.
